Unit x; Back on track

after yesterdays encouraging session of sketching out ideas and doing some internet research reading some articles, i had a lot to go off and i woke up early today ready to unleash this mind and right hand. using my sketches as reference i opened Photoshop and started cracking on with my first idea or my lines of code as i would use this template in the many ideas to come. code

Hand drawing the 0’s and 1’s then sorting them like so, i rubbed out a silhouette of a skull on this template, one with a jaw and one without just to get a feel of which would look more presentable;code 1 Me personally preferred the skull without a jaw, subconsciously giving the impression of corruption, and decaying which suited the idea very nicely, i did man renditions of these skulls in various positions and styles but the one i settled on which i like out the lot was this one:death to all data Accidentally changing the brightness of one of the data skulls left for a cool effect that ends up being the primary image but also fits in the the back ground with the tessellating skulls, plus the font i found by the off chance through Photoshop which fitted in perfectly with the theme!earth data 1

The next one being more of an outcry and more towards the protest idea, using the same lines of code and mimicking the famous internet logo, fusing it with planet earth and placing that on-top of an i hinting at the internet with the words ‘Privacy is overrated’ just off centre at the bottom, i wanted to stir up a little controversy with this piece and make people ask the question or retaliate against the caption showing after all how privacy is key to most peoples lifes.

Privacy 2The last of today’s bunch involves and illustration of a robot, one that would look a little similar to my sketchbook, being in my zone and feeling quite productive after the first few pieces i tackled this with no problem and got exactly the result in which i was aiming for, i did want this piece to be more of a illustration telling a little more of a story mixed with a comic book style with heavy black lines and emotions exaggerated such as the question marks above the head. Today’s session has certainly filled me with confidence and is setting me more onto the right path as well as gaining confidence in my drawing and thought processes, a few more days to go till the end of the year and the exhibit tonight for the years publications of the Unit X project! bring it on!
